Not A Good Day :(

Havent posted alot lately, been busy.

Anyway, headers did fine tell today. I was driving home and exhaust kept getting louder. I come home, jack it up. I'm missing a bolt, and blew the drivers side gasket.

I set the car down, back it off, CRUNCH Guess what? 8" of boards dont fit under a camaro lowered 2.5" So I guess I pulled a Doward, and need a new fender. May car had no dents whats so ever, sure does now.

This was after almost getting rear ended, getting in trouble at work, and broke some parts on my friends car. Tryed ordering some T5 swap parts, cant find any.

Should have stayed in bed today

Pulled a Doward? Nah... it wasn't your oil pan that you busted.

Yeah, sucks, I know... at least our cars are still fairly common in the boneyards.

I know, just a crappy day. I just dont have the funds to go get another fender and paint it right now. Hopefully I can hammer this one back enough to slightly bondo it.

Gasket on header shouldnt be to big of a problem, just time. Has to be fixed before saturday morning.

Dunno how hard it is to swap to t5. Quite fun finding the parts. I do know a place around my work here, just got v6 t5 in. They want 650 for EVERYTHING!

Doward, yep, 11. Last weekend was 6, this weekend 4, after that 4, Nov 6th is 8, who knows what else I will get planned

NO rest for the talented!
Have you been able to obtain a copper exhaust manifold gasket for engine or the Fel Pro Steel shimmed exhaust manifold gasket items for our V6?
The copper gasket company is Specality Component Engineering. They sell thru PAW in Chatsworth.
I have the copper gasket collector ones on my Corvette pipes. No more blow outs. Checking my catalog I'm gonna send ya, not listed it a 60* V6. I've heard they do make special orders, tho.
1-818-678-3000 is PAW phone number.

stock shifter are hard to come by as all junkyard are lazy and just cut the sucker off when they pull the tranny.

I have a stocker somewhere. Still using my home made shorty / 5.0 clone.

Id use some hi temp copper gasket goop or 100% clear silicone on the gaskets.

100% clear doesn't burn away.

it and cockroaches will be the only things left after a nuclear blast.

I've heard about the goop ya mix up too.
I'm sure they can make ya a set of copper for the engine.
I do know that the Fel PRo Steel Shimmed exhaust manifold gasket ones for my Small Block Chevy in Vette, work very well, too.
I eventually switched up to ARP header bolts for better header tightening. No more loose bolts for me now.
Hope these are good clues
Alos read that Heddman DOES NOT recommend double gaskets, due to encourages warping of header mating surfaces. I knew a few women who have that theory, too!!!
My copper gaskets are again down below on the collector gaskets.
