Starter problems
I been driving my 91 v6 firebird in Michigan all seasons for 3 years. And every year, I have starter problems, specially in the winter time. Somtimes, I change it twice a year. I am so pissed, because, my car runs so great and strong without any problems except that starter when it starts to mess up.
So I need some help to find any starter shield to protect it from water, snow and heat.
Thanks all for any help

Try these:

While these are a great help for your starter life, I'd still make sure that the starter is the problem because I've never heard of a starter going out like that. What exactly is the starter doing? It could be an electrical proplem or something else causing it to wear out prematurely.

I dont think it s an electrical prob. When I drive in raining days or alot of snow, I notice the second day that the starter is gettin bad. and after that, it keeps getting worst till the car wont even starts at all. So I know, it s time to change the starter again.

The starter works fine for a while. But when I drive it in the winter, I start noticing that it doesnt engage for few times. and after few days or weeks, it wont engage at all. I am not sure if any water or snow get inside of the starter, and during the night, It freezes.... maybe
UOH, UOH, UOH, MR. KOTTER, I KNOW, I KNOW!
I dare say it's time for new starter cable set up!
Or new battery cable set up!
Somehow during the year ya get lucky, then during a cold snap or wetness in air/ground the juice flow isn't primo. Causing problems. When ya reattach the new starter set up, better connections until.....

I don't know man. I drive in pretty much the same weather and never had problems like that.
Ya need that sucker on a lift n check it all out. Id replace cables n stuff. If your have a problem withthe starter so often. id start replacing other parts too. It can't be the starter alone.
