oil pressure help

When i run my car at idle my gauge reads about 40 , engine off it reads 0 , but as soon as i accelerate the gauge pegs completely over. Thinking it could be the oil pressure relief valve. But dont know exactly where it is. Anyone with info or opinions what else it could be please help. The guage and sending unit apear to be working but not 100% sure there isnt a problem with them.

Mine runs anywhere from the lowest mark on the guage at idle to a high of about 80 psi, depending on rpms, temperature, etc.
