high idle

My car tends to rev up to 2500rpms when in parked after driving for a while sometimes. ive tried to lower the the idle and it still does this. I read somthing about cleaning the TB and the IAC. If this is true how do I do it and what is my problem right now? Note: intake mainfold has been sealed recently, along with me instaling new vacum lines.

Make sure you don't have a vac leak.
You can clean the TB by sparying carb cleaner onto it while it is running, do the same to the IAC passages.

And you can also remove the IAC valve and clean it by hand...and pull the tube off the intake and clean the TB with a rag and TB cleaner by hand, with the engine off of course....that always works better for me cause I know I'm getting it fully clean.

And also, while you have that TB cleaner in your hand...put everything back together, fire her up, and start squirting the cleaner around all your vacuuum hoses, your intake gaskets, your tb, IAC valve, fuel injectors, etc....any potential source of a vacuum leak. Don't HOSE THEM down, but make it so if there is a vacuum leak, the cleaner vapor will be pulled in and combusted, which will make the engine's idle spike for a quick second.

Yeah dude just spray the throttleblade and opening around the blade and clean it with a rag. Repeat as necessary until rag is coming out clean and the blade is nice and shiny! It's easy...just wrap the rag around your 2 fingers and have a buddy hold the gas pedal down for you...or use your free hand to hold the blade open, whichever is more convenient.
