Does a TPI fuel pump work with MPFI?
It has been on my mind wondering if they were the same thing considering the close relationship between the two types of injection. What is the optimum fuel pressure for the v6? would a pump for TPI be any better? I was thinking about the increased pressures you might want if you use a power adder (ex. nitrous). Can you switch these two types of pumps?

yes they do, I have a tpi 350 pump in mine. But even better is the older tpi corvette pumps that have metal gears rather then plastic like the camaro.

I'll be putting in a GM TPI V8 pump when I drop the tank next. The V6 2.8/3.1, V8 305, and V8 350 pumps all have the same max pressure - 60 PSI - but the V8 pumps have a higher flow rate. So you won't be changing the pressure to your injectors, but they'll always have tons of fuel that they could use.

ok, I think I understand. So I can benefit from the steady fuel flow, and if I want to change the amount of fuel delivered, I just need to change up the injectors. Thanks for the help.
