I recently wrote about my 90 camaro 3.1L getting a code 45. I havent had time to check out for vacuum leaks. Recently, everytime I come to a complete stop, it seems my engine drops in rpms and shuts off. Luckily, I put it on neutral and turn it back on. But the wierd thing is dat everytime I start my engine, it revs up literally. Has someone every came up on this situation before, I know its long but Im sure someone knows about my situation.

 

When the last time you...

- checked the oxygen sensor wire to make sure it wasn't cooked on the exhaust pipe?
- adjusted the timing?
- cleaned the throttle body?
- cleaned the IAC system?

While you do that stuff, remove & clean & re-gap the spark plugs. Also check each spark plug wire with an ohm-meter/multimeter to make sure they're within spec of each other. (Example; you have 5 wires that read between 50K-65K ohms, but the sixth wire reads 500K ohms. You know that 6th wire is bad.)

 

i pretty much changed the throttle position sensor and the air valve control sensor and yes i did clean the throttle body, but i dont have an ohm reader to check the wire cables for the spark plugs. it still runs fine, but dunno if its spitting codes still.
