not running very well

Ok I just picked up another 91 RS. My problem is that the engine wants to rev way to high all the time. It won't idle and when I'm driving it it pretty much redlines itself. I did find out that the erg valve was completely off. So i have a hugh exhaust leak and the tube going to the throttle body is cracked. I tried to put the egr back on with a new tube but the exhaust manifold is stripped. Also the gas pedal feel like it's stuck when the engine is running but when it's off it's fine Can anyone think of what the problem could be from?

i had an issue like this . kinda. once the engine is on and "reving all to high" open the hood and examine the throttle arm on the .... whateber the throttle is connected to. physically close it. does this help? if yes, replace your throttle return spring, throttle cable (was the ussue with mine). if no then, um.... i don't know. hpe this helped a little

I also had a similar reving problem. I changed the throttle position sensor and the air valve control sensor (its part of the throttle position) and I cleaned the throttle body, damn was it dark as hell.

If the EGR tube is not sealed on the Intake, that's your problem. It's a HUGE vacuum leak and your car is trying to compensate for it, but can't. The MAP sensor is seeing low vacuum, so it thinks that the throttle is opening so it gives it more injector pulse width(more fuel), the RPMs go up and the cycle continues until the leak can't flow anymore air into the system. You probably have a SES light on too if you can get it to sit long enough, probably a TPS code.
