Can't Get My Rotor Off!?!?!?

Can't Get My Rotor Off!?!?!?

i am changing out my distributer cap and rotor, i got the cap off no problem, but i am pulling on that rotor awfull hard with no luck, i don't want to break anything. please someone help me.

I had the exact same problem when I did my tuneup. What I finally did was clam a vise grips on the base of the rotor and twist gently to break it and pull the pieces off. Use only the minimal amount of clamping force so the jaws don't slip, and you shouldn't have to twist very hard. You could perhaps also tap it with a hammer to break it off, but I haven't tried that.

try spraying a lil liquid wrench or pb blaster on it , it should just pull out.

maybe clamp vice grips on it and tap the handle of the vice grips

just take a big screwdriver and use the handle to tap the rotor, should take 4 or 5 taps and it'll be ready to come right off

just tap on the top of it, let the weight of the screwdriverdo the hitting, and it'll come right off. atleast mine did took me 6 hits

Go ahead; crack the rotor off; you're replacing it anyway. It's just plastic; the shaft is metal.

Yeha those boogers do stay ontheir
Do what ever it takes to "break it off" cause yes the shaft is metal.
BUT be gentle in your methods due to the damage to other things in the area!
