Engine clean up...have EGR delete, how to remove the solenoid & simplify vacuum lines
My EGR is gone, but I had no real idea what vacuum lines were still necessary, so I kept them all and just bipassed where they normally ran into the EGR.
So has anyone eliminated the EGR and all its vacuum lines? What did you do with the blasted solenoid. I'm sick of looking at the darn thing. But I don't want the car to code!
Some of the lines run to the Charcoal canister...I know this filters out fuel vapors, but can I eliminate it, or at least uncomplicate the vacuum lines where they all run

What emissions code are you running? Mine is a ZCD and I may be able to help a bit. I've had to really simplify mine for the 3.1 swap since the shop that did the swap did the swap wrong...
Can you get a pic of the emissions hose routing sticker if the code is different? I can use that to guide you through this.
However, getting rid of the solenoid is a different problem altogether. The black box that it's attached to has to see vacuum when the solenoid is triggered or it will set a code. I'm not sure as to whether you can just run a single vacuum hose to the sensor or not, and if you do, whether it still sets a code or not.

I used a resistor in the wiring harness plug on my SS when I was running with no EGR solenoid, and it cured the coding problem on that car, but I don't remember the resistor value (got the tip from CamaroZ28.com).
Edit: I did a search on CamaroZ28, a 68 or 75 ohm resistor should work fine on an LT1...I bet it would work on the V6

Well, I have a pic of mine, but it's on my other PC and I have no way to transfer it to this one (it's a bit too big for a floppy).
The best thing I can say is that there are two lines coming out of the junction block on the throttle body. IIRC (it's been a while since I had my 2.8) one is for the fuel pressure regulator, that one should be the longer line in the middle, and the one the EGR is T-d off of is in the other port. These lines are really very breakable so be careful. I'll see if I can't get the pic transferred somehow so you can see what I'm talking about...
