Hello i recently bought a 1991 Camaro rs, with the 6 cyl 3.1 auto. I have done the front breaks, rotors, bearings, and everything for the rear breaks. Also did 2 rear break lines. The service engine light is on constantly so i grabbed dads scanner and tested it out. I got 3 codes.
Code 24 - Vehicle speed sensor(VSS) open or short circuit problems.
Code 42 - electronic spark timing (EST) circuit open or shorted to ground during engine run OR Direct ignition system (DIS) fault bypass circuit open or shorted to ground during engine run. OR Fuel cutoff relay circuit open or shorted to ground.
Code 43- electronic spark timing (EST) circuit low voltage detected OR Electronic spark control (ESC) circuit problems
Any ideas what i can do?
I have been driving it for about a month, no funny engine noises nocks and no trouble starting. But the speedometer didnt work for a while and after finishing all the breaks it works when it wants to.

 

well. you are getting a VSS code. probably need to replace the VSS, or perhaps the wire going to it.

my factory service manual for my 1986 says this of a code 34:

the rest of those would be alot different on a 92. so somone else help. also. if you need a larger image of this just let me know. i'll email it to you.
