Best and cheapest air intake for 3.1s?
Best and cheapest air intake for 3.1s?
What do you guys think is the best and cheapest way to get more cold air to the motor. Could I just take off the canister that couples the air filter to expose it to more air and relocate the mass airflow sensor to the plastic tubing that connects to the throttle body? What have you guys done?

this cost me about 18 dollars at home depot for 3 in dryer duct, 3"-3" rubber coupling and a can of spray paint and only took about 20 mins to put together

the dual snorkel setup! go to the junkyard and buy one. It is about the only thing that doesn't actually pick up air from under the hood.

try a cai and a cold air box. the key there is the cold air box cause in the end that is what is gonna keep all that hot air around the engine from getting into the intake. i am not saying that it will keep the hot air from the engine compt from entering the intake tubing, just help minimize the heat from entering if that makes any sense to you! alot of that has to do with where you position it in the engine compartment and where you want it to pull air from. i suggest from under the radiator or in the bumper area.

Not the cheapest way, but probably the least expensive for what I ended up with. If you have some welding and painting talent, or know someone who does...

My 2.8 came with it, is that stock? Mine has an IAT bung on it that my friends IROC doesnt have though. I gutted it and I just need to buy the clamp that holds it to the MAF then I'm good
