gtech times

well i bought a used gtech and was playing with it this weekend. its alot of fun.

this is on my 2.8 with 80,000 miles and a tranny thats about to go(tcc locks and unlocks randomly, no overdrive till 60mph)

first time i used it it did a 1/4 mile run by the farms. car was full of tools and junk

0-60 9.71
60-0 235feet (didnt know what i was doing)
1/4 mile 17.66@79.3

took all the tools and junk out

0-60 9.49
60-0 180feet

then i did a horespower run, car is stock with exhaust leak at manifold, twin airbox gutted, and front choped off in fornt of the berlinetta slots, and 15" z28 rims

input the weight of the car as 3500lbs
HP125 dont know how accurate it was. kinda neat to see it fluxuate when i was driving it

then 0-60 9.03 fluke?
0-60 9.34
60-0174 feet

havent done another 1/4 mile yet.

noticed after i do a few 60-0's my brakes feel soft for a few k's
i have new calipers, cross drilled rotors, kevlar pads, new brake lines, dot 4 fluid, and i dont know about my drums.

id like to have a bit better 60-0 time.

tonight ill play with the lateral g's and maybe another 1/4 run.

new best
0-60 9.30
60-0 160 feet
17.5@81.5

found a problem with my ps front inner pad was off and worn a groove into itself, i took them all off, sanded the glaze down, cleaned out the crossdrill holes and ground a little of the groove flat.

pedal still feels a little soft even though i bled the calipers again.
im going to reseat the rear drums by braking hard in reverse and try it again.

For what it's worth, I've run my G-Tech at the track and it consistantly gave me times .2 second slower than the track timing gave me. You're real times just might be a tad bit quicker than what your G is showing.

The things seem to be very consistant though, don't they?
