mine from zone was around 200.

It blew not long out of warrany. So now I have this litte plate of steel, and it throws a SES light once in a while.

You can try to clean it (never been successful), shell out the 200 or so or live with the SES light. As long as you're not getting detonation at part throttle cruising you should be ok.

Digital valve. Can vary amount of recirculated gas.

It goes away if you ignore it. No worries.

when I got a code 32 I took it off, soaked it in carb cleaner, and it never came back  Carb cleaner rules, I cleaned my IAC on my truck and it worked like a charm, 1 dollar fix

I think soaking in in carb cleaner would fry the electronics in it.

5 or even 8 mpg should not be caused by a bad egr! i'm not running an egr and even with my cam and everything else i have, i get 15-16mpg city and 25-26 highway cruisin at 3200 rpms (3.73 gear).

yeah, if you're getting only 8 mpg, you have some other SERIOUS problem that you have to look into.

5-8 mpg? Take the money for the egr valve and find out what your bigger problems are.

yea were going to run a compresion test this weekend alone with a tune up, breaks & rotors, and i just figured i'd see what else i could do but i'm not willing to put too much $$ into the 6 at this point........ i just found an ls1 with wires & tranny for 2000 so i think i'm just going to go that route but even that will hvae to wait at least 6 months or so

tune up might help. definately look into (think about) your cat...maybe its clogged. um....air filter should be part of your tune up... injectors might have problems. o2 sensor could be bad but not throwing a code for some reason. it could be one of several things but there definately isn't any way that you should be having to suffer with 5-8 mpg!
