timing distributor

timing distributor

Hey on my 1991, v6 3.1 camaro rs i have to replace the timing distributor, not just the cap and rotor, how long do you think this will take? Has anyone done it before? so i can get input from past experiences

Axle/Gears: 10 bolt 7.625 open-factory 3.42
You can rebuild your distributor, all the parts are available from GM. Its not necessary to replace it. When my ignition module burned out in March, I pulled the distributor and rebuilt the whole thing: new module, pickup coil, disassembled and cleaned the center shaft, cleaned and adjusted the reluctor, rotor, cap, (along with: new AC Delco plugs, new AC Delco premium silicone wires, fuel filter, K&N air filter, AC Delco thermostat, Gates belts... sounds like a TomP tune up!) My motor is back to it smooth muscular self. Do a search for KED's thread on the V6 distributor rebuild.
