I've found constant LXX swaps to both an educational tool & quite an anoyance. But I'm giving it one more chance.....
In all honesty.
Suspension. Upgrade it get it stronger.
Exhaust.
Upgrade/additions.
Engine Management system.
Depends.
But in end, rewire car.
Engine/tranny, complete change.
Plus
Motor mounts, oil pan, air induction system, accessories (AC, PS), fuel pump, custom non smog legal exhaust (investigate this one detail, FIRST, before ya decide what you will do).
Don't forget gauges. May have to be changed to read new sensors.
You need complete wrecked car besides ya, Donor vehicle Helms book, your car wiring schematic and more space.
Of course it can be done.
You'll just have to re-engineer alot of details.
I did same thing with the 3.4 swap first time. In beginning, I was told it could be done. I put the engines side by side and looked. And picked up a wrench.
BUT it also may be worlds easier to just buy the LS1 powered F Body.

You could probably find a highly modified v-8 on this site for a lot less than what it will cost to do that swap. The engine becomes the least of your worries and its all the other little details that kill you. You will basically have to remake the entire car and spend a lot more money than you realize, especially if you go with a crate engine considering the LS1 crate engine is about 6k...you could buy a whole car with low miles on a rebuild and several mods for that much if not less
