codes 44 and 45

These codes keep haunting my rs... I got rid of them about 2 months ago and now they just appeared just today... I pulled out the sensor that goes atop of the throttle positing sensor... I'll try providing pictures later... WHen i pulled it out... I noticed that there was black filth and i just replaced the darn sensor... Hell, I even cleaned out the throttle body... and i did notice that my tail pipes spit out black smoke and sometimes black water... Does anyone have some sort of diagrams or those do it yourself kits because I am just having the last nerve on my rs... and get this, she only has 76k original miles, what a bitch.... thanks

You should really buy a GM service manual for your car, from http://www.helminc.com , it'll tell you exactly what to do for each trouble code.

The sensor you removed was the IAC motor, you could've just cleaned the pintle and put it back in- but that wouldn't do anything about a code 44 or 45.

The GM/Helm Shop Manual/Service Manual will have exactly what you're looking for- diagrams and trouble shooting charts.

For now, check your oxygen sensor's signal wire, make sure it hasn' t melted against the exhaust pipe. If it has melted to the pipe, that shorts it out and sets a false code 45.

I checked out my oxygen sensor... it seems fine, no wires are melted... but the wierdestthing is that the "service engine soon" light has not appeared after 10 mins like it does, but thanks for the info though...
