The search button is my friend!
also the read me first guide sticky at the top of the v6 forum page.
Swapping in a 3.4
some more info would help
Firebird or Camaro? Auto or stick? year? carb or MPFI?
What are you planning on doing with this car?
Now that we have those things out of the way:
start with>TomP's tuneup
cold air intake
headers
high flow cat
cat back exhaust
cam
trueleo intake plenum (when available)and a larger throttle body (if you have a MPFI car)
turbo
n2o

1. Tune Up
2. Intake
3. Exhaust
4. New Hi-perf ignition, ALL new, not jsut parts, this **** is geting to be 20 years old, replace it.
5. Bigger injectors
6. Chip (Tuned for bigger injectors)
7. Cam
8. Turbo/N2O
or
1. 3.4 Swap
2. Repeat steps for 2.8
What will give you the most power? The latter, you will be much happier with the 3.4 stock over a slightly modded 2.8, and the great thing is all that stuff for the 2.8L fits right onto the 3.4

By the way, how come not one of you used an apostrophe? Did my generation use them all up???

Oh yeah, to avoid total threadjack.....if you want to make a V6 seriously quick, and actually keep just 6 cylinders under the hood, you'd best have pretty deep pockets!!

i'm not quite as old as some of you, but i am loosing my hair, does that count?
back to the question at hand, i know that rftc has a 3.5 that he is building, i personally am doing a 3.1 equivalent and i have already got $5,000 in parts and still got like $4,000 more to go just in the engine. i mean my cam setup alone was 763.50$ and that was shopping around, dale and i figure that you can get 300 out of the 60*'s. that was using his desktop dyno. if you really want serious power, wait til you learn how to drive, then take and swap in a ZZ750 crate engine and slap a supercharger on there, but at your ages, i would stick with something that you can handle. i think that all the older guys than i would agree with that one.
p.s i realize that you all have to start somewhere
