Weird oil pressure reading

I noticed today that when i first start my car, that after driving a bit, the oil pressure goes up during braking. after a while if driving it will go down when braking but i dont know what is causing this to happen. Anyone?
Also, has anyone else had there speedometer needle stay dead till the get into second or around 40 then it jumps up? i am and it is driving me nuts, transmission shop said it is the gauge not the unit, but they never tested it.
Thanks guys.

Maybe you could put a cheap MECHANICAL oil pressure guage on temporarly to see if it does the same thing. You wouldn't even have to mount it. Just to rule out a guage issue (oil).
