Vacuum problem? Maybe... need help
When I slide my vent switch, nothing happens except in Max and Defroster... if I leave it in one spot long enough, eventually it will flop over, I'm completely clueless about how the lever even works, but I think this is a vacuum problem.. Anyone have advice on fixing it?

sorry to tell you this but...
you're going to have to rip your dash apart and replace every line that holds vacuum back there. It's probably really worn and leaking lines since it eventually flops over, I doubt they are just slipped off. (or it wouldn't move at all)
It might be easier if you have a firebird because of the seperate radio pod, I dont know though...
Replace it ALL buddy, you don't want to do that again...
Have fun. lol

you probably won't have to rip the *edit: used to say "cash" - I'm a little slow* dash apart. Check the vacuum line that comes off the vacuum block on the upper plennum. there is a small hard plastic line there that breaks because it's under the hood and is along the firewall, so it's always nice and cooked. mine broke, had the same problem, so i just replaced that line with a new one and havn't had a problem since.
Since all the stuff under the dash isn't explosed to temperature extreams like the underhood stuff, the usually don't break. If you feel like you have a lot of energy, you might as well replace them all, but chaces are that the problem lies outside under the hood.

That's very correct.
Those lines by firewall do control the HVAC assembly.
Yours is probably disconnected.
IF the hard line is cracked, use 5/16" windshield wiper hose for your solution patch.
