Hole in a new fuel filter
I just need to vent i was doing a tune up today on my car to get ready for smog and decided to do the fuel filter as well. Well i put the new filter on make sure it is all nice and tight.
No leaks so far so i fire it up and gas spreayed all over so i shut it off made sure it was tight again turned it back on same thing. So i thught maybe i cross threaded it took the whole thing off put it back on and once again gas all over. So i looked to see were it was coming from and it was spraying out of the side of the filter. Took it off dug through the trash can for my old one put the old one back on and no leaks. I spent a good hour trying to get that damn thing not to leak. That will me next weeks project. On a good note i put in my new Head Unit today sounds awsome.

Sorry to say this but that all sounds about right!
You'll pass smog!
Hell I did eventually!
What it could have also been was fluid seeping past onto the threads and spraying out that "area".

Karl, you beat me to it!!
There are tiny little o-rings on the very end of those fuel pipes. Sometimes they can get stuck in the opening of the old filter, then you throw the filter out and the o-ring falls out in the trash!
I'm guessing the same thing happened; and when you put the old filter back in, you were lucky enough so the o-ring was still there, and the o-ring just wedged itself back onto the end of the fuel pipe again.

There is an O ring??? i have changed my fuel filter several time and never noticed one being on there at all on either side. It is just flared out at the end. When i go to put the other new one on i will inspect the old one.
