The oil pressure on my 85 Berlinetta is acting up. I bought it a week ago. Ever since I got it, the oil pressure reading will go up to about 80 when I first start it. After it warms up, it reads 0 on the gauge at idle. If you rev it , it goes up immediately. The motor doesnt knock or tick at all, and runs awesomely. The oil, when changed, has no grit in it, and doesnt dirty quickly. It doesnt smoke, or consume oil. What should be done?

 

When mine stays at idle for along time it will go down to 0 psi too, i think it is normal. (My car is perfect on oil level and doesnt knock and runs great like yours as well.)

sounds like a bad oil pressure sending unit thats what mine did when it went bad.
