Car: 2005 Lincoln LS, 83' Z28
Engine: 242 DOHC and an empty engine bay.
Transmission: 5R55S, T5 soon to be auto
Axle/Gears: 3.58s and soon to be 4.10s
setup?

Aluminum Bowtie block bored .020 over, Aluminum heads, Crane cams duration at .050 lift (intake/exhaust) is 204º/216º, while the value lift is .427/.454, Magnum roller rockers, 3.1L crankshaft and connecting rods, MSD coil, Accel cap and rotor, Accel 8.8mm wires, Denzo Iridium plugs, ported and polished upper and lower plenum, 17# injectors, and possible mustang throttle body. How much power do you think I can get with that setup? Is it worth the money? Would I be better off just turbo-ing my 2.8L V6? Dont want a V8 like the sixes.

Go find a used low milage 3.4 long block and have at it.
Should run ya about $300-$600 range.
Have you found the price of your aluminum block yet? and do they still make it?
At one time was made, yeah, but, now why bother, when ya get a larger more powerful engine, working, for price of your engine rebuild kit

i was thinkin it was around $3k but i could be wrong. not worth the money in my opinion especially with that cam and all. i'd get a 3.4 and turbo it or just turbo your 2.8 if its in good shape!

the aluminum block at full bore of .080 over does not compare to the stock 3.4 bore. the max designed stroke of the aluminum block is .11 less than the stock 3.4. the only benefit would be the weight. otherwise its a lot more money for less displacement.

I'd spend the $3,000 for that 2.8 aluminum block
by investing that $3,000 plus I believe $8,000 more and buy a GM reissued ZL-1 engine.
The Aluminum engine 427 Can-Am series race engine of the 70's.
If ya gonna buy an engine, do it right!
Find a used long block 3.4 and get back on road, quicker & using less money.
