Exhaust manifold removal

I just got a pair of pacesetter headers and I am gonna install them in the next few days. I looked down at the bolts holding the manifolds on and they are just complete rust. I tried turning one and I don't think i'll be able to get them out without sheering them. Anybody have any suggestions for getting these rusted bolts outs??

Soak them thoroughly with a good penetrating oil several hours (day before if possible) before removing them, and don't use air tools! In the event they do break, you will likely have to use a 90 degree drill (mine's air powered) and an EZ-Out. With the right tools, a broken bolt isn't that big a deal.

go to sears and get a set of hammer on(over the stud) stud removers, they work great.... had the same problem about a month ago.

i got a set and they worked better than everything that i have ever seen(deal with that kinda stuff every day as a repair machinist)

if u break a head of a bolt its cool, just take the rest out then grind 2 sides of the post flat and twist out with a wrench, hopefully the unexposed parts arnt rusted, ive used this technique on tons of parts, only thing it hasnt worked on was a cat bolt

the old manifolds are off without breaking any bolts. The new manifolds are about to go on.
