Engine temp guage

Engine temp guage

Alright, question for you v6 gods My enige temp guage says my engine temp is way over over heating, yet the enigne is not even warmed up, Could it just be the guage? or is it the therometer? or what else could it be?

Engine: 2.8L MPFI (rebuilt)
Transmission: 700R4 swapped to T5
Axle/Gears: 3.42 open
Gauge
Sender
or wire shorted to ground.

disconnect the sender and see if it is still reading high.

Driver side head at the front, single green wire, its right behind the a/c compressor .

alright, No the guage does not read high when the sender is dissconnected, it reads right at the white mark in between the 220 and the first white mark on the guage, am i correct in assumeing that the sender is bad?
