sputtering and jerking in 2.8 89 camaro

changed the mass air flow sensor after checking the codes it was throwing out and it was also throwing a code for a digital EGR valve, but i was told i dont have a digital egr valve......

anyways, changed the MAF sensor saturday evening, ran fine, then sunday it got all jerky and sputtering when trying to go.

whenever i've got my foot on the gas its like i'm trying to tow a semi truck. thats what it feels like. and it jerks back and forth and such.

anyideas as to what it might be? fuel filter? sprakplugs? anything? i changed the plugs and wires last september

with the car idling, tap the mass air sensor where the connector plugs in. if the car chokes then you have a bad sensor. it happens. these are rebuilt parts and sometimes come bad.

i've never changed the fuel filter. i got the car august 04 and changed the idle air control valve, blower motor, plugs wires, alternator, waterpump, oil pressure sending unit, and battery. since then its ran fine until this.

so i should tap the connection with the car idling? if its a bad sensor they'll replace it right?

and yes the check engine light is back on. i'm going to pull the codes this weekend. i dont get home until 830-9pm so i'll do it saturday morning

make sure you dont have any leaks in the intake ducting between the maf sensor and the throttle body. you might not have sealed up something when you installed the new maf senson, and if any air gets in or out after the sensor it throws off the readings.

post the codes here and i can look them up in my service manual if i have time(which i probably will).

give us your car information too(year engine etc), there are some differences between the years.
