I have had my smog pump a few months now and was always wondering about the tensioner pulley and belt. You can see the mark in the middle for a "normal" belt. However, my belt is way over to the right. Do I need another belt size or tensioner? This photo was taken while the car was in drive and the park brake up. The current length now is 91.5" I think. Any suggesstions?

Mine is about in the same spot with no problems I think as long as it is in that grooved range you should be good but you may need a new belt in maybe another year. I also notice my belt will go to that area wheni have my AC on.

I ended up making a new alt bracket that rotates it up and out a bit more. Made belt tighter, and pulled it futher away so it would less-likely hit the other belt.

Ummm, it's time for a new belt there. If you are not running the AIR pump, and you have A/C, the belt part number is Drive-Rite 915K6, found at Advance for $25.

However, if that IS a new belt, then I can sell you my spare alt bracket. However, there is supposed to be a very small clearance between the two parts of the belt there. My 3.1 originally had the stock AIR pump crap on it, and that was discarded. After I replaced my belt, the clearance was a lot bigger, but still close.
