Starter problem update
Well...this morning I used a screwdriver to jumper the starter between the battery lead on the starter and the "S" terminal. I heard the starter kick in and the flywheel was engaged when the starter turned over. The car still did'nt crank but maybe the starter aint bad. I noticed when I turned the key to the RUN position also, that the SECURITY light did'nt light up at all. The fuel pump did prime so if I'm not mistaken, does'nt the VATS system also control the fuel pump? It would seem if the VATS was bad, the pump would'nt prime at all. Correct me if I'm wrong. The only thing I can think of is the key cylinder switch, ignition switch box or the P/N switch. I'm hoping it's not the key cylinder switch.
I'd hate to rip of the steering wheel to get to that sucker plus take it off. The GM place said they had a way to test the key lock switch to see if it was bad or not. Anyone ever hear of that?
