Is this normal?

Took my oil pan off and found this:

It started acting a little weird so I went through a few WOT runs.. hoping to clear it up a bit. Redline starts after the red line is gone on the tach right? I only took it a little past it so I thought it would be OK. All the sudden a loud knock began coming from the engine... and it stopped running.

I towed her home and she cranked up again, but the loud knock was still there. I thought the knock might be from me putting too much oil in it... sloshing around, you know? It makes sense to me... so I drained it and cranked her up. Figured it would be good to clean the engine from all that dirty oil. What better way to do it then to rev it up in neutral? I took it only an inch or so past redline (redline is 7000, yea?)... to help the cleaning process up. It started to squeak very loud as well as knock. Squeaky clean!

I think I ran out of gas though... she stopped running after like 20 seconds of the cleaning process... and wouldn't crank again.

Kidding.

Hopefully this new engine goes fairly smooth.

Some stuff will be for sale soon... accel 3.4 injectors that aren't that old.... other stuff will be dirt cheap/free if you need some 3.4 parts...keep in mind the abuse though.

Kinda sorta...

Locked it up...didn't really "blow up" though I wanted it to.
I took a rod cap off and the bearings were tore up pretty good. The crank has some white powder action going on so I assume its chafed pretty good or something. .. or maybe it's just the bearing being eaten away and dispersed. I dunno. The cap itself is like a mini rainbow... I guess it heated up pretty good

I know the valve train is fubar... but I dunno about anything else aside from what you can see in the picture. There are some larger, but not big, pieces of metal in the pan ...I'm not sure where those came from.

I've got everything out of the engine bay aside from the steering stuffs....I don't really want to stop tearing the car down (new dash, etc etc), but if someone needs something asap I wouldn't mind I suppose. Injectors would be easy though since they are right on top pretty much. Let me know mang.

EDIT: if anyone questions whether or not these cars (or at least mine.. 88) have a rev limiter just look at my avatar. I assume it was like 8000 rpm. Though the needle might have just stopped b/c of the oil pressure gauge.
