Agg.. Wierd problem
Ok Yesterday I went on a small trip from my place to lakehead.. ABOUT 80 MILES ROUND TRIP.. So as Im pulling up the off ramp heading home it dies on me as I come to a stop.. and when I restart it it wouldnt build up RPMs.. and keeped dieing.. Oil pressure is about 70PSi water temp about 200F and 3/4 tank of 89 oct gas.. But it was acting like it was way over heated.. let it cool for a bit restarted and drove home.. But now its really ruff.. dont like to idle but once warmed up its ok.. idles good 2 850RPM and Im no longer getting any engines code.. just replaced the MAF, Temp sensor and the O2 sensor.. Any ideas would be helpfull..
Its is possible that the Ignition module inside the distributor is starting to act up. Really isw a crap shoot right now from what you are discribing. Could even be the fuek pump. But it definately should be something electronic getting heat soaked.
My suggestion would be to start with the ICM (Ignition Control Module) and rule that out. It is fairly easy to remove from inside the distributor. You can take it into Autozone and they have a diagnostic machine behind the counter that can test it for free on the spot.
If it is bad, I would ask them for an AC Delco replacement unit. I doubt they have it. They carry junk ones like Wells brand. Just decline their offer for a new one and tell them yopu will find a Delco uniot from somewhere else since they do not have it.

I have heard plenty of people say thoughthat the '90-92 (I think those are the year range) with the electronic EGR's will show a code, but I have yet to hear of a vaccuum controled EGR V6 to show a code for that faulty part even though the manual says it should.
