v6 throttle issue
My cousin has 92 rs with a 3.1 liter. The car runs good for about 10 minutes, then starts to hesitate on takeoff and during throttle increase but when reaches speed its ok. I have replaced the fuel filter and the tps sensor. Please give me a hand here.
Thanks,
Tony

I'll give you a hand- (clap) (clap) (clap)
Ha, ha, okay, enough joking- how's the rest of the car doing? Spark plugs, spark plug wires, air filter, IGNITION TIMING, distributor cap/rotor, PCV valve, etc?
Was the TPS giving a bad reading?
Oh, a bad fuel pump can give those kind of symptoms too...
And with a nod to KED85/Karl (RIP), make sure your cousin's alternator is putting out the correct voltage. Engine running and in neutral, you should see 13.8 volts at the battery with a handheld meter.

Changes all kinds of ****
I figured that I should chang a few thing as I go to eliminate problems since its a old car. I replacer the IAC, PCV, TPS, coolant temp sensor and the fuel filter. When I did that fuel shot across the garage floor so I fdont think its the fuel pump. And this problem only happens when the car warmes up. The dist is new when we bought the car a few months back. I am leaning twards a plugged cat.
I dunno,
Thanks for the imput

Just becuase the fuel came out like a shot does not mean the pump is ok. Only way to make sure is to check the presure. Presure needs to be between 43 - 47PSI.
You can have 20PSI and still shoot fuel across the garage. Also presure needs to be maintained. There is a certain amount of presure drop allowed once the car is started, but if I remember right it was only some thing like 2 -3PSI.
I have a '92 3.1 and had these same exact symptoms when my last pump died. It did this for a couple of weeks then suddenly I couldn't get past 30MPH.
Checked fuel presure and it came in at 15PSI.
11 1/2 hours, and bunch swearing later my pump was replaced and car ran like a champ again.
