Everyone’s concerned with increasing the power from our motors.

In order to do that, the FIRST step is to do TomP’s Patented TuneUp –

TomP's "How To Do a Major Tuneup"

Only after your motor is running in tip-top shape, can you start to increase its performance.

Why not just swap a V8 in?
V6 = lighter, better handling
Forged rods
Beefy internals
Rated 7000rpm usage

Building From What You Have:
Throttle Body Coolant Bypass
Cat-back exhausts
Headers
CAI
Camshaft
Roller Rockers
Roller Timing Set
Intake
V6 Bible
FWD heads/rotating assembly

There's No Replacement For Displacement:
Stroking the 2.8 to a 3.1
3.4 swap

Except Forced Induction:
Superchargers
Nitrous
Turbochargers

How do I make it all run?
MAF 2.8 vs SD 3.1
