has anyone stabbed a distributor for a 2.8?

has anyone stabbed a distributor for a 2.8?

If you have done this please tell me how. I don't seem to be getting it right. where is #1 on the cap. is there anyting else I should do after I stab it? Thanks for the help.

Car: 95 E-150 & 07 Kawasaki ZX-6R
Engine: A slow one & a fast one
Transmission: A bad one & a good one
Axle/Gears: A weak one & a chained one
Make sure the engine is at TDC, compression stroke, on cyl #1. Cyl 1 on the cap is basically whereever you make it. Line up the rotor closest to the terminal that will give you the most total rotation, to either side, of the distributor before anything hits. That's your #1 now, work from there.
