Edelbrock Intake.

I noticed online at the edelbrock site that there is a couple of intakes made for the 2.8 liter. One says its a stock replacement, so is there any gain by getting it??

The other one says that it can take a holley 4bbl and with the cam and stuff it makes an increase in torque.

http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_..._v6_perf.shtml

If you scroll down you will see teh two that im talking about, the second one has a dyno chart on the change in torque.

DO you think that either of these items are going to be worth purchasing seeing I need a new carb anyway maybe I should just do everything at once.

Thanks for the reply Dave. I never put it in my profile but im from Woodbridge. Know any shops in our area that will do an intake change if i decide to go that route. Its going to be my brothers car not mine he is the computer geek and I am the car guy but I am still learning and would rather not learn on something that someone else is relying on, so if he decides to get the intake and everything I would rather not do the work. The trans linkage disconnected on the trans yesterday and he calls me to rescue him from the parking lot took 2 seconds to put it back on he never would have thought of that.

Thats excellent, I work in South River so the location is great.

Its important to have someone reputable do the work, a lot of new guys dont know what a carb is.

You dont rebuild carbs at your place by any chance do you?

Hi Guys, calling in from Englishtown NJ. I have the Edelbrock manifold with the Holley 390 4 brl. Mallory dizy. on the 3.4L Performance Crate engine. Everything with the engine is stock other then carb manifold and Dizy. When Dynoed I got 147 HP & 197 ft/lbs torque at the rear wheels.

Seems a little more torque than the stocker... not bad. Personally, I'd run a nice solid lifter camshaft in there with the carb

The HP numbers 160 and Torque 190+ is at the fylwheel for the 3.4L Crate engine, when you see those numbers in the info sheet. One thing at a time as to a hotter cam. Let me enjoy the car with the engine for a while LOL

I am sure anyone who looked at the picture of my engine knowes that it is not in an F Body, (Sorry) funny you should speak of Karl, he helped with questions I had many times. He knew what car I have the engine in, and was thrilled in talking to me about it. Many times in his post he would tell the group that he was sorry talkang about my car, but he had read about them in an old Road & Track back in the 70s. The car is an 1971 TVR which weighs under a ton. I quess that was part of the reason he liked the idea of that 3.4L in my car. weight to power ratio??

I will have to check on the remote oil filter question
