Yes, the Accel 17lb injectors are quality injectors. I highly recommend them.
They are even BETTER than the injectors that you have.
Believe it or not, the injectors that came in the 3.1 and 3.4 motors are less "performance" oriented than the ones that came in the original MPFI 2.8. They are less lb/hr of course, 13/15/, but... they are the "pintle" style injectors which give a much better spray pattern and help atomize the fuel much better than the standard DISC type injectors.
When I rebuilt my 2.8 into a 3.2 with overbore pistons, etc... I went with the 17lb Accel injectors. I wanted everything to look stock though, so I painted them with black engine enamel. They look just like the stock ones.
Anyway, go for it... they are excellent quality injectors.

i do plan on doign some comptuer retuneing at some point however its gonna be a bit yet, probably not till i get it running and broke in before the trubo so i dont wanna go huge injectors yet till i have to. so 17s i think will be fine, plus they are farely cheap can always replace at a later date hence why i was wondering how good they were.
any other brands that would be better?
that and who cleans the stock ones, may send those out as well to be cleaned so i have an extra set

cruzin perfomance is the place that cleans them.
I calculated up today, with what ddd says my engine should be at, and calculate out the #'s. It says I should be at just under 19lbs.
However, you could get the afpr, and bump up your pressure too

FYI, Accel ALSO sells 19lb injectors. I installed them in my Fiero originally, and they were too much, so I switched to 17s...

Bah! Solution is very easy:
I bought 6 new Denso 17 lbs. injectors in ebay for $ 60 ($ 6 each), installed them and retuned the PROM of my 2.8. All is good: idle, RPMS, power and the stupid emission legal test.
