Pacesetter headers on '83 manual
I recall that the pacesetter headers don't fit on 83' manual V6's because of the manual clutch. Has anyone tried to modify them? Does anyone know how much modifying it will take to get them to fit? I have a mig welding machine and know how to weld, but how much bending and welding will it take?
Modifying the headers will also affect the flow, so if it takes drastic modifications can I expect a loss of power?

switch to a hydraulic setup. It's gonna be a bit of work, but its better than screwing around with the headers. you need the bellhousing & fork, the clutch hydraulics, and the bracket to bolt it to the brake master cylinder. I dont know how the mechanical setup works, so you might need to mess around with the firewall to mount the master clyinder and pushrod.

If the Z-Bar is in the way, just bend/modify THAT.
Much easier to modify it than the headers

Has anyone actuallly tried to fit headers on an manual with a mechanical clutch? No chance that they might fight?
If I was to switch over to a hydraulic clutch, then why would I have to change the bellhousing and fork? I thought they were exactly the same? Comments from people who have done this switch over?
