Heres the plan!
ok, since my engine doesnt really like my lately, and I want to part the car out but I'm not in control of my finances right now, I had to speak to "the g0ds".
We all agree, 1g to rebuild this motor and plop in is a no-go.
So, we stuck a bunch of magnets on the oil pan, spun the pump with electric drill and watched oil flow and listened to the drill bog down, spin up, bog down, etc.
Drained oil, poured in 1gal of desiel fuel to flush it. Plugged back up, poured in about 5-6qts of desiel, and spun the pump for a few min. Letting that drain over night.
Then were jacking the motor up, dropping the pan and installing a new oil pump, and propper 3.1 pan. Then dropping in my 93 s10 truck cam that has no upper rpms, but massive low end tq
.
Then, if it waxes this cam, its
car. Either way, I dont really care. I enjoy driving this car, but I'm tired of dumping cash in this car when its not what I really want. But then I'll be on the major prowel for a vert

negative. I'm not going thru with it. Finding another 3.4 will cost as much as rebuilding this one.
I've spent 160 today alone on a oil pump, pan gasket, oils, filter, honing tool, and other fluids.
this car really isnt worth it to me anymore.

High Volume oil pump in. It flows a high volume of oil onto the ground because

Pistons on the rods, re-hone the cylinders, clean out the oil system, install the new rings, and compress the rings so the pistons go back in the cyl.
All for a non-convertable car
not worth it in my book.

not worth it in my book. u wouldnt have to rehone the cyls though it shoudl be done,u can buy the tools to do it urself cheap summit sells the ring compressor for 15$'s and the hone is liek 25$'s,u can clean out the oil system with compressed air and bottle brushes

I'm with dale. To do it yourself, especially if youve never done it before, would make me nervous. Thats why you pay 300-400 to have a machinist do it for you. And since I've heard that the main bearings are basically hand picked, nuh uh, not me. I'd never recommend anyone who doesn't do it for a living to do it yourself.
Good luck man! Sounds like your on the right path to ensure everything is as good as it can be!
