So have any of you guys tried the 36mm/24mm sway bars on your V6's. Is it too big up front to throw off the balance? I now have a chance to get some but my biggest concern is I don't want to make it "loose" in the back end. What other combo's have you tried that work well (upgrading)?

At this point I don't know enough about suspension balance to know if it would be ok or not (stock springs). It is currently an F41 V6 with 32/18 bars.

Any thoughts?

I did the HD sway bars front rear on my old V6...
BIG, HUGE, ASTRONOMICAL difference.
turns at speed were not an issue, neither was tire creep/sliding (of course brand of tire varies this).

the thing was on RAILS.
I am really looking forward to getting this 89 GTA with the WS6 package to be able to take turns again.

well... was I not enthused enough in my last reply?
I bought the set up Front (1 1/4)/rear (7/8?)/wonder bar from one of the used parts vendors here for 220ish and was NOT disapointed.

The new rear was bigger than the stock front.

What do you mean by HD? Because 1 1/4 and 7/8 are only 32mm and 22mm. Are those aftermarket?

When a car "rides like it was on rails", think about slot cars- when the track goes to the left, the slot cars go to the left- they follow the rail... so riding on rails basically feels like you're glued to the ground.

I have the 34mm hollow bar up front and 23mm in the rear. It is an inexpensive upgrade that helps especially if you install a wonderbar.

Thats pretty big.

I'm at 34/22 with Iroc springs in the front. i think I do pretty good as is. These pictures were taken with the car going fast enough that the tires were sliding out on me, so pretty damn fast.

Which were sliding out, front or back (ie was it understeer or oversteer)?? WHat tire size do you have?

Oh, and is that the 34 hollow or solid?

It was slight understeer with nuetral acceleration, and oversteer when I jumped on it! I wanted to drift the skid pad sooooo bad, but the instructers would be on my case if I did....

Tire size is 245/40ZR18, Federals, Thread wear of 240. The pavement had just a little bit of sand sized rocks and stuff here and there. I think the rear picture was of me sliding the front to get around that cone (it was out a bit further than the other 3 that made the skid pad).

Thanks J, I'm going back to the original color as soon as I can. Hopefully this spring I can get some primer on it!

My car handles VERY well (IMO). If you want more info on my car and what I've done to it (very budget) PM me.
