Master Cylinder ??

My rear reservoir is loosing fluid. Does that go to the rear brakes? I'm assuming that the rear wheel cylinders are going bad. There's no fluid by the booster...

I'm pretty sure that it does. Wheel cylinders go bad often, luckily they're fairly cheap. Before you start, go to the parts store and buy a pair of snap ring pliers. They make your life SOOOO much easier.

Easy way to check if the cylinders are bad is to pull the drum off, and then take a screwdriver and pull the boots back off the cylinder. Be sure to do both sides of it, because only one seal might have gone bad.

If you let the MC run dry of fluid, even in just the back parts its ruined.

Wheel cylinders are $8-10 each.

Probably gonna bust a line, strip a bleeder and other fun things while changing it. Plan ahead, have another car handy for store trips. Gonna need to bleed the whole system after. Might do some other things while it apart.

Heat will help break the line lose with out twsting the end off.

Don't drive the car until you find out what's going on!!!! You don't want to kill yourself (or someone else)!

The 82-92 Haynes manual shows how to change out a wheel cylinder...

I changed the pass cylinder in my ride years ago. Got to experiance the wonders of the split backing plate too ( driver side already had one w/new cylinder. coincidence????) iirc, the split backing plate also fits the s-10 trucks too.

The split what?? I haven't heard of this yet! What's the difference? Was it a GM fix for something? Or just one of those yearly changes? What does it look like?

Or (laughs) do you mean it cracked in half by itself?
