rocker arm set-up 3.4

i'm putting my rocker arms on they have a way diffrent set-up then fords so i'm kinda lost on this one. The gm shop manual for my 88 camaro says to "tighten them till there is no more 'lash' and then another 1 and a half turns." I have no clue what they mean by lash is it until the rocker arm will not move freely then tighten the extra one and a half?

even fords have lash, of usede too (silly underpowered modular engines )
anyway, lash.. when the pushrods no longer have any up/down movement between teh lifter/follower and the rocker arm. some like to tighten until the pushrod will no longer spin around, and the othe rway is to pressurize the cylinder chamber using air tank/compressor & stop torquing jsut before the valve open & lets all the air out

Lash = up-down play. With a slight bit of drag on the pushrod when spinning it between the fingers.

Since your somewhat new to gm's, I'd say 1-1.25 turns tell you have done it a few times. Also check compression in the cyls before you put everything back together.
