you could try cleaning your throttle body with a rag.

i guess ill take off the intake and clean it all out, clean out the throttle body, what should i use ie a spray or whatever, im going to replace the gas filter too, because its the only thing i really havent done since ive owned the car...its easy enough anyway...any other ideas as to what could be causing this?

I WOULDNT GO AS FAR AS REMOVING THE INTAKE, just take off the ductwork and mass air meter and wipe out your throttlebody wit a rag or somethin.

If you haven't done the fuel filter yet, a few tips-

Wear goggles so you don't lose your eyesight from any gas spraying/dripping out! I also put my arm thru a garbage bag so I don't get a chemical burn on my skin from dripping gas.

Don't drop any wrenches on concrete- that would cause a spark!

Try your best NOT to flex or bend the metal lines at all that go into the fuel filter!! If you bend them, it'll be super hard to line them up "straight" into the fuel filter, and you may wind up cross threading something.

If you have the special flare nut wrenches and they're doing more damage to the tube nuts than doing any loosening, STOP and try using a large (12 inch to 15 inch) adjustable wrench instead. I -hate- flare nut wrenches on old fittings (tranny, brakes, fuel, etc)... they always seem to ruin the tube nut shoulders. A large adjustable wrench helps in two ways- the jaws are THICK so they get a better grip on the flats, and the handle is long and straight so you can apply more "direct" torque.

When you take the filter off, inspect the ends of the metal fuel lines- there should be a tiny o-ring at the end of each line, right before where they go into the filter. Sometimes those o-rings get stuck inside the fuel filter, and you could throw the filter away- and without the o-rings at the ends, you'll get a bad fuel leak!

And make sure you install the new filter with the "flow" line pointing towards the front of the car. It would still work if you do it backwards, but it would clog up faster.

Probably gonna twist the lines off on the fuel filter. I sure did. But your lucky cause autozone n other have a fuel filter the same size but with nipple ends in a package on the rack. no need to ask for it.
two pieces of 2-3in steel braided fuel line and 8 smal clamps, 2 per end. and walla a real easy to change fuel filter. Mines been that way for little over 5 years. Unless you can afford to replace the gas lines. But it wasn't the money for me, was the PITA.

Ended up doing the same things when I changed my fuel pump without dropping the tank.

Id still clean your intake but not just because of this problem. I was shock at the ammount of carbon n junk in something that just carries air.

Its a nasty dirty job, get some good throttle body cleaner and a selection of cheap 99cent brushes. Stuff goes all over and stains right now. Do it in grass far away from stuff.

also found that GM only used 1 top to middle intake gasket. They just flip it over for the left side [looking at front of car] which works fine but the gasket stick into the port about 1/8+ in. That little lip can mess up air flow.
