water shield
i drive a 1988 camaro 2.8l mpfi and i read somewhere that if you drill about 5 1/4" holes in the water shield under the air filter that it gets more air into the engine but i was wondering if i could just take out the water shield b/c directly under the air filters is a box with holes to let air in but i think that it will keep water out but im talkin about under the box there is a shield with just openings around it to let air in....would it be better to take it out or just to put holes in it????

It's a pointless mod, the dual snorkle intake is the same one off the 5.7L TPI motors and if it can flow wnough air for an engine double the size of the 2.8, it can outflow a V6 no questions asked.

headers, cutom turbo, weight reduction...
Search around, but beware of things like the intake mods. Before you go hacking into stuff, think logically about it, then, if it makes sense, try it.
