Car is runnin HOT!!!

hey i was driving the other day and noticed that my car was gettin hot. i alwayz check the water and all that good stuff in my car b4 i leave. I met up with one of my friends @ autozone and there was watter all over the ground. i poped the hood and the top hose coming from my radiator was leaking so i fixed it and it is still gettin warm what do you think it might be? could i buy a RamAir kit for it? would that help it keep its cool? PM me W/ info.

IF it was leaking theres a good chance you got air in the system. let the car cool off and then take off the rad cap fill till full then run the car for 20 or so minutes and add water as it uses it. after you dont add any water for a good bit of time put the cap back on and fill the over flow tank to the proper level.

Sounds like the Thermostat, also the ram air just allows more air into the intake. u can add it but i dont think itll cool the car down or anything.

Tricky to fill our cars up. I fill the radiator, start the car and watch the water level, with a gallon of 50/50 at the ready. When the stat opens the water level will quickly drop. Pour in the coolant as soon as it drops. My car will take almost the whole gallon at this point. You can then continue to fill it up by adding to the coolant resevoir to the "full hot" line. Every other day check the reservoir and top it off to the full hot line. Eventually it'll stop dropping and should settle at the full cold line (when cold).

200-220 is about normal for these engines from what ive been reading.. You really need to worry when it reaches 250 or more... I know before i changed out my thermostat to 180, my car, warmed up was right around 210-220

make sure your air dam underneath the car is intact

Sounds like a bad T-Stat to me. If you overheat them, sometimes the spring warps and doesn't allow the plate to open at the proper temp anymore, and most of the time they stick shut. Since you know it overheated, change it on general principle. It's not worth chasing down a temperature problem for a $15 fix.

Also, get the system pressure tested and have the cap tested too. It's a good idea to have it pressure checked at least once a year.
