3.4 5spd to auto swap problem; the flexplate
I ordered a flexplate from autozone because my car is an auto, and the 3.4 I got was attached to a manual.
From what the guy building the engine has told me over the phone, the center hole in the flexplate is too big. Tomorrow I'm stopping by there to check it out, and either see if he can make a spacer/shim of sorts to slip over the crank, and if not I'll just get the plate and return it.
If he can't get one anywhere and I have to order a new one, does anyone know a source and part number I can use to hopefully get the right one this time? If anyone here has done the 3.4 manual to auto swap that is.

Well I went up today and looked at it. The center hole is way too big, the mounting holes don't line up, and it has 4 TC holes instead of 3.
He has a spare 2.8 flexplate, which fits perfect, and he says he could remove the weight on it.
I'm going to check the parts store again tomorrow when they get a new one in just in case the wrong part was originally put in the box. If it's still the wrong plate, I'm calling the engine builder and telling him to clean up and un-weight the flexplate he has sitting there and use that.
