Got my Camaro Running!!! Got questions though

Hello,

I got my Camaro running last Sunday (a week ago) and finally I have stop driving it after putting 1200 miles on it in one week. But I did do a lot of traveling. I love that car.

I heard I could get this "electronic box" for the r700 transmission that will allow me to flip a switch that you install and the transmission won't shift till an rpm you set it too. I know you can get a stall 4000 torque converter but that is not what I am talking about.

And on one finally note. Does anyone know how difficult it would be to make my 89 Camaro Manual if I got a T5 5 speed manual transmission.

I know that is alot of reading and asking but I really appreciate it.

Thanks
Grantscamaro

well to do a manual conversion from auto
there are sertain things to consider,.,.you would need a manual console unless you fabricated the old one wich is posible., not a majiro prob
also youll need to install a clutch and componets like fluied resivior and clutch cable,.,.,.,.,.i have heard of it being done but never seen it step by step,.,.i believe a searsh can be done in other catagorys other then the v6 board.,,.

As far as a box telling yer trans when to shift not sure if its a good idea for the 700r4 the box i think your refering to is just a chip for the ecu,.it does not realy help "so i hear" From my expirienc the only right way to change the shift points in yer trans is to install a shift kit.,stratigicaly placed berrings and channels inside the trans bodyalow the trans to shift sooner,.i feel it helps the trans last longer as well

as much as you drive its a good thing its not on horse back,.or the sum bi@#@ would be dead right bout now lol...... you ever think about taking up truck driving. hell nowa days youd be on the road less .,,.lol

I think the switch your talking about is the torque converter lock up , Look under Tech Articles on the main page https://www.thirdgen.org/torqueswitch

I think I may have read wrong... or did you want to change an auto tranny to a standard??

If so, here is the article:

Camarosource.ca - Camaro Message Board :: View topic - **Changing an Automatic into a Standard**

If not, you confused me
