Possible oil pressure problem.

I just bought an 85 camaro with the 2.8 v6. I think I am having oil pressure problems. The idiot light is flashing on and off when the car is facing downhill. When the light came on it sounded like the lifters started ticking. I checked the oil level and found it was full. My first thought was that the pickup tube has come off the oil pump. I know that GM makes crappy oil pressure sending units but that wouldn't make the lifters tic if it was just giving a false reading. Anyone else have simular problems?

sounds like ur guess is about right,
the pickup screen isnt catching the oil
when oil is sumped to front side of the pan due to being in steep hill.

i read somewhere that oilpump almost-never fails,
and doesnt sound like its the pump,
so yeah check the screen up,
could be just loosened up or something. good luyck!
