interchangable alternator
Im going to put an underdrive pulley in my 3.1 soon.
I've read that it'll give u poor headlights etc etc electrical stuff.
I wanna go for higher amp alternator, mine's a 105 now,
and I see a power street alternator (200amp)
in summit but they're too costly for me..
I remember reading some1 took an 145amp altrnator from another
car to put in their car,
so i was wondering if there's actually interchangable alternator from other
car thats in the range of 145 amp.
i think it was a corscia or something but i cant remember and can't find it..
if u do know this info, let me know if it's a direct replacement
or if some mods are required also, thanks in advance

Thats was me. Word of caution to you, you need to understand that no matter how large of an alternator amperage wise you install on the car, if it isn't turning fast enough at idle then it still isn't going to help. I only ran a higher out on for my electrical crap like hotter ignition, dual BeCool radiator fans, A/C, stereo and headlights running at night- my alt could not hold all of that together and was discharging at idle due to the load with everything on. This car is still idling at 950 rpms and the stock alt was fine without the headlights AND A/C on. It gets hot some nights here in So Cal. , like last night were were driving around til about 10pm with the windows up and the AC on.
You can see the alt & custom bracket at this link:

Thats a one off prototype I made myself -not to my satisfaction. I do not TIG weld and this was done on my 220v Lincoln pro MIG welder. I did not make fabricated tube provisions for the top 8 mounting bolts and am not happy with hiow I sealed it only for test purposes with rubber washers under the flanged boltheads. It did give more top end power, but I have alot of other goodies that also aid in that noticible gain when adding this plenum like the 62mm TB and the PF&E stainless headers, and 1.52 roller tip rockers for starters.
I have a young grasshopper that I have been mentoring in racing that has become a master welder at 17 years old- Has even welded on Jesse James car for him in a pitstop two weeks ago. This kid can TIG anything beautifully and will make me one some day soon when I get off my rear and finish some house projects first. The new one will basically look identical but with thinner aluminum and will resemble fabricated alum valve covers and how the tube slot the centerbolt mount holes for sealing purposes.
Here's a pic of Nick and I by Jesses figure8 car last weekend 2 Irwindale. Nick knows him fairly well- I have never spoken to him even though I have stood next to he and Sandra a handful of times while talking to others in his crew we know- I am acquintances with "Jesse's Girl" Candace.
