New Starter

So, I've finally got my heat sheild wrap so now I'm looking for a 'better' starter. By better I mean I've always had problems from the ones from AutoZone so I'm wondering what you guys have. Thanks, part numbers would be awesome or where you'll got them from would be great

Axle/Gears: huh?? guessing stock.
Im running a duralast from the Zone. no problems with it. only issue I had was the moron owner before me wired in a push button starter. used 18G speakerwire. had smallissues with that for some reason so I re-Wired it with 10G and have no issues. Plus even if someone gets my keys teh key alone wont start it. you hae to find the button.

That's what I got right now. I don't know maybe it's just my dumb luck or something but I always have to trade it out about 3 times before I get one that stays working. That's why I'm wondering if anyone has something else. Thanks though for the info.

Yeah, I've just had the problem with a starter I just got last week from autozone, just finished taking it back, and all I could hope for is that this one will las longer. But, does anyone else make something for our cars???

A "NEW" starter from Napa Auto w/lifetime warranty. And of course the anti-heat wrap is a must. Also here's Summit Racings # 1-800-230-3030 for there free catalog.

Duralast = crap. Every now and then you'll get a good one. Lemme just say this, Autozone isn't exactly renowned for quality parts, whether new or reman. Gotten several NEW rotors from them, badly warped out of the box. Damaged reman axles, etc.

Could always look at high torque starters from Summit or Jegs.....but the appeal of lifetime warranty at a local parts house is undeniable. Just stay away from Autozone and Advance, although at least in my experience, Advance parts seem to be a LITTLE bit better.
