Quick question here for you V6 Guys...
Guy I work with has a 1986 Camaro with only 20k on the clock, I was impressed, the car's mint.
Says he has a problem with the fan kicking on, so I ask the experts:
On that model year, with the LB8(?) V6, where is the location of the cooling fan relay, and on top of that, where is the location of the cooling fan switch? Should the fan turn on in "field service mode" with this car?
Thanks to anyone who can answer these questions!

relay should be under the dash on the drivers side, the switch for it is located on the back side of the pass cyl head and if by "field service mode" you mean w/ the ALDL connector, yes, if you use a paper clip or hook up a scan tool, it should be on as soon as the key turns on.

the stock cooling fan setting is at 236 degrees, or right around there, so thats normal.... for these cars. i had a problem w/ mine so i just wired in a toggle switch. it was already there so i hooked it up to my fan instead of the fog lights that were taken out long before i got the car. thats the best way to do it, and the cheapest, but a lower setting switch is the next best thing, that way you dont need to keep a constant eye on your temp.
