v6 engine problems, need help please!

Okay, my car wasn't running the greatest... for some reason.... it always wanted to stall out while being put into drive or reverse... it ran kinda rough as hell while driving down the road, meaning, it takes awhile to shift(went higher in rpm than normal, thats with normal driving conditions, not hotroding) but when shifting there was no roughness in the gear change... when sitting in park, it would idle okay, but then drop down below 500 rpms and act like it wanted to die, sometimes it would die, but other times it would pick back up, it would do this over and over the whole time it was in park..... now... i'll be driving down the road going 60 and the service engine soon light will come on, and the car will just shut off.... sometimes if i wait like 20 minutes it'll start back up, sometimes i have to wait 3 hours... now its to the point where when i start it up, it'll run for 10 seconds before shutting off... i tried to see if i could get any codes from it, but there are none... its not giving off any codes... could anyone give me any ideas as to what my problem could be, and fast, i really need a vehicle for work.. haha

i just managed to pull out some spark plugs to see if they were getting spark, and they cylinders are getting fuel, you can smell it when you try to crank the engine over... the only problem is that none of my spark plugs are getting spark... how far back would i have to trace this to find the problem?
