code 42 help

hey guys past 2 days ive been having some problems with the rs,2 times it stalled on me.just like as if u were to shuit the key off

i checked the est wire and it was fine, the car has a brand new pickup coil/coil/cap rotor, plugs and wires/and the icm is about 1 year old,
the code also says fault @ fp cutoff relay circut.
its an intermitant problem it happened 2 times today on my way home, the first time the motor died while i was driving but fired back up on its own,was crusing about 40 mph when the motor just shut off and came back on.just liek as if i shut the ign key off and on really fast.i smelled a ****load of gas inside the car.

a fe wmins later it did it again this time it would not restart for a few mins,as i was cranking the wwas so much raw fuel comming out the tail pipes.my ? is if that relay were even to stay on wouldnt the fuel injectors be closed as to were it wasnt flooding the engine with fuel.

or is it possible i have an injector thats leaking down, still dosent explain the stalling problem though

Well, since our cars don't have a Fuel Pump Cutoof Relay, it's kind of hard for that to be the problem. Even if the FP Relay went bad, there's a redundant circuit in the Oil Pressure Switch that allows the FP to run as long as there is oil pressure.

I would suggest checking FP pressure and obviously checking for fuel leaks.

When you smelled the gas was it because you were cranking and it wasn't starting?

no when the car stalled and restarted the first time i just smelled gas,i didn thave to recrank the car to get it started, since it died whgile i was moving it started back up on its own.the second time it died completly.
as i cranked the car i could see white/black smoke out the back.kept cranking it and it finally started and ran fine.gas smell went away and it started.now even if th eignition system died i dont see, having as much raw fuel come out the tailpipes as i had.

i did the check for fuel leaks and i couldnt find any
